The Lakers cooled off to 14 points in the third period, and the Bombers came through
with 21.  It was 57-53 shortly before the end of the period, and then Morrow’s free
throw and baskets by Wayne Oestreich narrowed it to 57-56 and Gill gave the
Bombers the lead for the first time at 58-57 at the end of the quarter.
Bombers Hold Lead
The lead see-sawed through the first half of the final lperiod, then gift shots by Ritchay
and Gill gave the Bombersa 65-63 lead.  Garmaker’s final free throw and a fast break
basket by Dick Schnittker gave the Lakers a 66-65 advantage.
Here Gill hit on another long one to leave it 67-66 with slightly more than five minutes
left.  Then Lew Hitch made two gift shots and with Garmaker and Schnittker taking up
the scoring burden, the Lakers pulled away to their final 10 point margin in a good
exhibition.
