When J. D. Witter died in 1907, he left $50,000 to build the
Witter Manual Training school, which later became
Mid-State Technical College. Next door was the "Normal
School". They named it that deliberately, so that they
could say that we went to the "Abnormal School", ya hey.
You probably have figured out by now that we did not take
these pictures. These came from a wonderful collection of old
